(NYSE: EVTC) (“Evertec” or the “Company”) today announced that the Company was recognized by the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) with the President's Special award for the outstanding and timely support offered to the local business sector, after Hurricane Maria. The recognition was received during the Gala dinner of the PRCC Convention held on June 22^nd, and also included a special certificate issued by the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico in Washington, D.C., Hon. Jennifer Gonzalez, for the work carried out by Evertec.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Evertec led several initiatives to help reactivate the Puerto Rican economy. Through one of these initiatives, "Puerto Rico Ponte en Marcha", Evertec provided merchants with technological solutions and support so they could restart their operations and process payments as quickly as possible. Aware of the importance of these merchants’ role in the recuperation efforts, Evertec not only continued its operations during and after the hurricane but also replaced merchants’ point of sale terminals and donated portable telecommunications equipment so they could continue running their businesses.
